There are two key elements that make a hairstyle "low maintenance". A style can be considered as such if it’s a hairstyle that requires minimal effort or skill to make it look presentable and also
if it doesn’t necessitate a great deal of time to style.
I think we all strive for at least one of these two hair goals. No one likes to spend forever styling their hair and not everyone can style their hair like a professional would. Below is a list of
fabulous celebrities who reap the benefits of low maintenance hairstyles.
Jodie Foster - Photo: Christopher Halloran/ShutterstockJodie Foster: Having a low maintenance hairstyle is something Jodie likes and has requested from stylists. Her pretty ombré hair color is a great addition to her style. She often tucks one side
behind her ears and out of her face but her bob hairstyle is also long enough to pin back when she wants.
Carla Gugino - Photo: Joe Seer/ShutterstockCarla Gugino: If you are blessed with naturally curly hair, like Carla has been you have the perfect opportunity to rock a scrunched style. These types of hairstyles are great time savers! It can literally
be styled in a few minutes, just apply some mouse to clean, damp hair, scrunch it and go!
Halle Berry - Photo: Everett Collection/ShutterstockHalle Berry: We couldn’t leave the queen of the pixies off our list. Halle has been sporting the pretty pixie for many years and we deem her the quintessential example for how to keep a short
hairstyle evolving and sassy. Here she uses working wax to give her some fun height.
Michelle Monaghan - Photo: Featureflash Photo Agency/ShutterstockMichelle Monaghan: Now Michelle has a longer low maintenance hairstyle. Here, you can see she has some layers and has embraced the ombré hair color trend as well. Ombré is synonymous with wavy to curly hair.
This works well with Michelle’s natural state because she can air dry with little product.
Anne Hathaway - Photo: Featureflash Photo Agency/ShutterstockAnne Hathaway: The pixie style Anne is rockin’ here is, essentially a ‘wash and go’ hairstyle. She loves it because it works so well with her oval face shape and is too busy living life to have the time to fuss
over longer strands; she lets her stylist do that.
Sharon Stone - Photo: Kathy Hutchins/ShutterstockSharon Stone: If you’re going to have a shorter style, adding subtle highlights and lowlights throughout is a great way to add interest without adding length as Sharon has done. She also has a deep
side part and brings the hair over to give a more polished style.
Hilary Swank - Photo: Tinseltown/ShutterstockHilary Swank: You might look at Hilary, seen here, and say that’s not very low maintenance hair but the key is to know how to get a great look with little time. Hilary wraps her hair up in curlers
while it’s still damp and accomplishes other tasks while her hair is air drying!
Charlize Theron - Photo: DFree/ShutterstockCharlize Theron: Charlize knows how to create stress free primping time! Stress free styling is when you have a hairstyle that works with (not against) what hair texture you are naturally given.
Charlize has a curl that’s used to her advantage on the sides and back areas of her cute pixie while the front is dried straight.
Constance Zimmer - Photo: Kathy Hutchins/ShutterstockConstance Zimmer: She wears a shorter bob haircut that takes little time to make the look put together. No matter if she air dries and flat irons or round brushes to dry, with a shorter style, it’s a nominal time
styling. Perfect for those of you who have places to be and people to see!
Helen Hunt - Photo: Press Line Photos/ShutterstockHelen Hunt: She is a busy lady and doesn’t like to spend time fussing over her hair. Who does? Her shoulder length hairstyle is low maintenance on hair products and time caring for it. To create a flirty style
like Helen’s use a curling wand with 3-4 inch sections. Bigger sections make for a faster styling time!
