This men's hairstyles collection is inspired by the warriors of the past, brought into the present. The collection portrays raw male sensuality and unity while capturing the distinct essence of the natural warrior within.
The hair inspires individual direction and strength, yet also showcases the underlying influence of the 1950s quiff.
Mohawk Quiff
A sense of rawness and individuality translates into this aspect of Totem—a fusion of the strength of Mad Max and the Fonz. A typical Mohawk quiff is given the ultimate warrior feel with finger-depth layering through the sides and back, and a textured top.
Julius Caesar Look
I could not resist including the Julius Caesar look in this collection. A classic Caesar cut, it’s tightly graduated through the sides and back with rounded layering on top. The hair was then texturized to give it an honest, lived-in feel. It was dried flat and lightly padded with a mousse-gel mix for a soft, spiky effect.
Ultimate Warrior
Ultimate Warrior is the cornerstone of the Totem collection. His individual direction and strength make his haircut timeless, combining influences of warriors past while maintaining relevance today. Scissor-over-comb techniques extend past the curve of the head, pushing the natural curly texture into a new form of the quiff.
Model Warrior
An intriguing shape inspired by modern catwalks, yet deconstructed into a warrior look to provide a macho street feel reminiscent of the fifties. The hair was parted at the temple and brushed back using a wet gel.
The leftover hair was cornrow braided and tied. Then, using dry shampoo, the braid was slowly opened from the back to the front, deconstructing it into a fashion-forward quiff.
Ponytail & Masculinity
Effortless style illustrates that the ponytail can be worn in a feminine way while maintaining a raw, warrior-like masculinity.
The hair was prepped with mousse to build a lived-in texture, dried completely, and tied into a ponytail. Using dry shampoo, the ponytail was slightly deconstructed, allowing the hair to fall naturally into place.
Roman Empire Hair Look
A neo-metric warrior look purely inspired by the Roman Empire and its soldiers. It features a classic short graduation that creates a sense of mystery. Beautifully finished with lightly textured ends, it gives a battle-weary appearance. He is a Roman warrior for the modern era.
Native American Look
Inspired by the fields of Asia, the mysticism of Native Americans, and the last Emperor, this shape incorporates many twists and turns while embracing the traditional warrior braid.
The front hair was split into four sections, braided first, with the back section in a fishtail braid and an inverted chignon created on the crown. The sides were then swept into the crown to finish. The hair was gradually torn apart to achieve a truly warrior-like finish.
