Short Highlight Extensions
Q: I have a question about how to find short highlight extensions for short thinning hair like the kind that Joan Rivers advertised for her hair, to give more fullness to my hair.I have been searching all the hair extension sites, and I can't find any short extensions to put in short hair for fullness. I would appreciate any information that you can give me on this.
A: As far as I know, Joan Rivers never actively advertised hair extensions; although it was common knowledge that she wore them.
You can try to find extensions that are highlighted, and I assure you that this variety is usually easily available, even online, as highlighted extensions are one of the most popular colors. But if you can’t find highlighted extensions that fit your color perfectly, simply order light blonde clip in extensions online and take them to your stylist to be colored into the color/highlights that matches your own color perfectly.
Please don’t feel uneasy or embarrassed about this. I have colored dozens of extensions for clients, and know for a fact that hairstylists don’t even bat an eyelid at the procedure. To be honest, it is one of the most fun things that we learn in college. 100% human hair extensions can be colored just like normal hair. So the possibilities really are endless.
Joan Rivers did however market and sell a product called ‘Great Hair Day by Joan Rivers”. It is a powder-kind of product which is applied to the scalp with a brush, to disguise the scalp, and the micro-fibers of the product build up around the hair to the extent that it seems fuller and thicker. The product is advertised to strengthen the hair structure while acting as a method of disguise considering the thinning hair line, without staining the scalp. “Great Hair Day by Joan Rivers” also comes with a mirror and accompanying brush, for easy application anywhere, any time. You can check out this product on Amazon.
