Bronde Hair Color
I would love to become a bronde. Is a bronde hair color something that I can create at home with box color or should I get it done in a salon? I would prefer to do it myself because that would be a lot cheaper.A: Bronde (mixture between a brunette and blonde) has become high in demand in salons all around the world, because of its beautifully natural appearance, the fact that you don’t have to choose between blonde or brunette anymore, and that it is so easy and cost-effective to maintain.
Is it possible to color your hair bronde yourself? In short; yes it is. But it is also physically possible to put your whole foot in your mouth, but this doesn’t mean that you should actually attempt to do it.
Seriously though, if you have a lot of experience with coloring, highlighting and toning your own hair, you could give this a go, and I’d say that you have a 50/50 percent chance of actually attaining the color that you had in mind. If you succeed; that’s great. And yes, it will be much cheaper than having it done by a professional stylist.
The reason that it will cost more in a salon is that; 1. A professional will be doing your hair, 2. Professional products will be used on your hair, 3. The whole process is a sweet treat, and almost as good as a holiday.
Salon products keep longer than store-bought products. You should always keep this in mind when you do your cost-comparisons between a DIY job and going to the salon.
This all said, here’s the whole process broken down into chronological steps. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you have the know-how and experience to do it yourself.
Firstly apply a semi-permanent color (usually light brown or dark blonde, depending on the end-result that you want) to the whole head, to tone the hair to a base color. Rinse and dry the hair thoroughly with a hair dryer.
Secondly apply a rich brown/brunette color to your roots. You should apply a color, level and tone that suits your natural complexion and color, blends well with your regrowth and will also blend well and complement the shade of blonde that you’ll be weaving with your brown.
Thirdly you will foil strips and sections of hair that you want to be lightened. Again, this depends on what look you’re going for: a naturally sun-kissed look or balayage and ombre techniques.
Once the bleach has processed to a suitable level, you will rinse the hair and apply a toner to blend the blonde and brown strands more naturally. When the toner has reached its desired shade, you will rinse it off and style the hair as usual.
