A better actress could not have been selected to portray Marilyn Monroe than Kelli Garner for the TV mini-series "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe." When Kelli walked the red carpet for the screening in Los Angeles on May 12, 2015, photographers, fans, and fellow actors alike couldn't help but feel like Marilyn herself was strutting down the carpet.

It's no secret that Kelli is a blonde bombshell. Her sought-after platinum hair color is a force to be reckoned with, as platinum is one of the most noticeable, standout hair colors one can have, next to bright red, of course.

Kelli sported an adorable updo for this event. The side wave in the bangs area creates great height on top, and the curly tendrils that hang down add softness around the face to a look that would otherwise be prim and buttoned up.

The easiest way to achieve Kelli's elegant updo is to separate the sections out. Keep the pieces of hair that you want around your face and bring them forward, along with the top section to create the wave. Pull the rest back into three different mini ponytails.

Twist the hair hanging down from the ponytails into circle-like rings and secure them in place with bobby pins. Next, hairspray the wave over to one side and secure it in place. Finally, curl the pieces around the face and use a generous amount of hairspray to hold any updo.
