Q: Is it ok to remove nasal hair and what is the best way to remove nose hair?

A: It is of course, okay to remove nasal hair, although you really only want to remove the nose hairs that are visible or protruding from the nostrils. Nose hairs do serve a valuable purpose in filtering out irritants from the air we breathe that might otherwise cause allergic or sensitivity reactions in delicate nasal passages.

If you want to trim your nasal hairs, there are a number of products that can help you accomplish this goal. These are specifically designed for the purpose of removing unwanted hair from the nostrils and ears. However, these fancy tools aren't necessarily required to remove unwanted nasal hair.

The simplest way to get rid of nose hair is to take a small pair of scissors (possibly nail scissors) and using one finger of your free hand, press the nostril inward gently and use the nostril's outer edge as a cutting guide. Repeat the process on the opposite nostril.

Refrain from inserting scissors or razors into the nasal cavity as there can be folds and protrusions of sinus tissue that could be nicked and get infected. If you have safety scissors (with blunted tips) then you can trim more deeply, but still exercise caution.
