Luxurious silk turtlenecks are exceedingly popular these days. They are perfect for stylish layering and will add extra spirit to anyone's turtleneck collection. Women, men, and children can wear them.

Silk is the most versatile, breathable, and comfortable fiber in the world and is a natural insulator. It has the unique ability to draw moisture away from the skin, making it ideal for layering. It is lightweight and the thinnest natural fiber available.

Silk turtlenecks are usually made of spun silk or filament silk. Spun silk is a medium- to heavy-weight knit and is ideal for cold-weather apparel. Spun silk looks somewhat similar to knit cotton, but at the same time is very different due to the shine, feel, and elegance that only genuine silk can provide.

Filament silk maximizes silk's ability to insulate the body and wick away moisture. It is lightweight yet very strong, and its supple texture makes it perfect for undergarments. Its natural stretch makes it very comfortable to wear beneath casual and business attire, as well as under your activewear. It is gentle and soft against the skin, and perhaps most importantly, it does not add bulk under your clothes.

Not only does the texture have advantages, but the sophisticated look also makes it popular. The sheen and texture of a silk turtleneck are very different compared to those of nylon or cotton turtlenecks. Polyester or polyamide can look good too, but silk is unique. Silky turtlenecks, sometimes referred to as rollnecks or polo-necks, are available in a variety of colors and styles.

A silk turtleneck is an extremely comfortable layering piece for every season. You can, of course, also wear it on its own for a unique look, with each movement of your body being elegantly reflected in the shiny silk. In this case, we advise purchasing a slightly oversized turtleneck shirt. Just think of the great looks you can create when combining it with slacks and a nice belt. How about the combination of soft, smooth silk and rough denim? The contrast could not be stronger, and we all know that strong contrasts often result in unique, fashionable looks.

Layer silk turtlenecks with sweaters, cardigans, blouses, shirts, T-shirts, and anything else you can think of. Wear them under a blazer for a stunning business look. It's a great alternative to the classic shirt or blouse. V-neck sweaters with a silk turtleneck underneath can look absolutely gorgeous. The V-shape of the neck will slightly push against the silk of the turtleneck, resulting in a pleasant movement of the fabric. Wear it under a button-front shirt or blouse and leave several or all the buttons undone.

Turtlenecks can be worn unfolded for a crinkled neck look. Crinkled necks are very trendy these days, creating a sort of contrast. The unfolded collar looks casual, while the crushed silk looks elegant and attractive. Funnel neck tops will give a similar effect.

Silk turtlenecks are also perfect for wearing under a wool turtleneck sweater to keep the sometimes itchy wool away from your neck. It can be handy to wear the silk turtleneck with the collar unfolded to form a higher barrier against the wool.

As you can see, there are numerous reasons to purchase one or more silk turtlenecks. They are not always easy to find in stores, but you can find them online without too much trouble.

If silk turtlenecks are too expensive for your budget, it is, of course, perfectly acceptable to wear the polyester, polyamide, or viscose versions of these nice, shiny tops. It is a pleasure to wear them! They are smooth, shimmery, and feel good on the skin, just like the silk version.
